When does the school year start?

Our Preschool and Pre-K programs operate year-round starting each August and end in July. Our school year calendar lists all important dates and school closures:

When does enrollment begin?

We process applications in the order received, and offer enrollment based on space availability.

Can I enroll my child after the school year has started?

Yes, enrollment is offered during the school year, on a space-available basis. If a space becomes available, we will offer enrollment based on the order in which applications were received.

 

How can I get on the waitlist?

To be considered for enrollment at Creative Journeys please fill out an application. There is no application fee. Go Here for the application.

 

What are your schedule options?

Our Preschool program is offered as a T/th, M, W, F;  or Monday - Friday schedule, based on space availability.

 

How long is the school day?

Our Full Day program runs 8 hours long, 8:30 - 4:30. It includes morning snack, Lunch, Naptime/ rest time, & afternoon snacks. Our half day program is from 8:30am - 12pm.

 

What does the daily schedule look like?

We provide a wide array of activities and learning experiences throughout the day. We follow the children’s rhythms, and not a strict time clock … so routines are flexible depending on the children’s interests and needs. Find out more details here!

 

What are your classroom ratios?

Our mixed-age classroom (2 years – 4 years) is composed of 6 children to one teacher ( me!).

 

How old does my child need to be to attend CJP? 

We welcome children beginning at 2 years of age. When spaces become available during the school year, we offer enrollment to these families in the order applications were received (if children have reached the age requirement by this time).

 

In our mixed-aged classroom, pre-K children benefit from the opportunity as teachers to our younger children. They also benefit from dedicated pre-K Small Group work, focusing on age-appropriate cognitive, emotional, and social development.

 

If you have any concerns about your child’s readiness for Pre-K, our Preschool Director can review with your family, and help make the best recommendation.

 

Do you have onsite play ground or do you use a local park?

We are an IN-HOME PRESCHOOL. I am located within the Axiom Apartment Complex. There is  not have an onsite playground. We absolutely love our neighborhood  parks, playgrounds, and urban nature! Our Nature/Reggio Inspired curriculum is enhanced by spending our mornings outside where your child can explore, grow, feel connected, grounded, joyous while learning and growing in the safest and most abundant classroom ever - Mother Nature!

Does my child have to be potty trained to start school?

Children do not need to be fully potty trained to attend our programs, but they should be working on it prior to attending. We have plenty of experience with potty training, and can lend support with this goal!

Are meals provided?
You monthly tuition includes 2 snacks per day and Lunch (Hot/ Cold)

Our menu is posted on the parent board and Social Media.  It is subject to change without notice. Please note: If your child has a particular dietary need or allergy, please let us know. We will do our best to accommodate this but may need you to supply your own food if it is different than our planned Snack/ Lunch menu and offerings. We are not vegan, vegetarian.
